THE "TOMBOY" BLU-RAY INTERVIEW

Here's Betsy Russell during the shooting of her recent half-hour interview about TOMBOY, an eagerly-awaited special feature in the new Scorpion Blu-ray release.  The movie itself will be transferred from original negative elements, and the double-sided jacket contains some rare materials, along with captions.  Promises to be quite a treat for TOMBOY fans this August!

WILL WE EVER SEE THIS SCENE?

Of course, the greatest extra of all for a blu-ray release would be the cut basketball scene, where Tommy and her friends take on local toughs Frankie and Pimples. The scene's in the script (just before Seville's audition number, early on), and this photo proves that they shot at least some of it. Was a cool set-piece in the screenplay, especially if you're a basketball fan, with TB outmaneuvering these badass clowns at every turn. Maybe, if we're really lucky, it'll be on the blu-ray...

TOMMY BOYD ON BLUE!

Now here's interesting news... TOMBOY will be released on blu-ray in June by a company called Scorpion Releases. Unlike previous video versions, this incarnation will apparently feature extras, including a recently-conducted interview with Betsy Russell herself. Fan-tastic! I'm not sure what else might be included on the disc, in terms of extras. In any event, the announcement is wonderful news to all of us TOMBOY fanatics.
